Statement of the Embassy of the Islamic Republic of Iran in the Kingdom of Sweden regarding the baseless allegations in the CNN report
The response of the Embassy of the Islamic Republic of Iran in the Kingdom of Sweden to the CNN report titled as “Recruited by gangs exploited by Iran Intel sources say Swedish teens are being used to target Israeli interests” published on 07/04/2025 is as follows:
“All the stated matters have been addressed within their respective timeframes, and the Islamic Republic of Iran has explicitly declared its official positions regarding each of them. Tehran firmly rejects any involvement in such actions and strongly deny these allegations.
These accusations are made just for tarnishing the reputation of the Islamic Republic of Iran, promoting Iranophobia, and creating a negative atmosphere in Tehran's relations with other countries, particularly its ties with Europe. Behind these accusations lie the Zionist regime and anti-Iranian circles.
The stated allegations are merely verbal claims, and despite assertions of having evidence and documentation, no substantial proof has ever been provided. Furthermore, despite the Islamic Republic of Iran's declared readiness to examine these allegations, no supporting documents have been presented thus far.
Following the U.S. President's announcement of a policy of maximum pressure on the Islamic Republic of Iran, the amplification of such baseless accusations through the media is part of a psychological operation against the Iranian people. This approach is influenced by the Zionist regime and aligns with the same maximum pressure strategy. And as mentioned it is also part of Israel's unethical and destructive tactics to divert global public opinion from the genocide in Gaza and its aggressions in Lebanon and Syria.
Regrettably, similar unfounded accusations have been made against the Islamic Republic of Iran in the past, none of which have ever been proven. For instance, in 2011, the United States accused Iran of plotting to assassinate the ambassador of a country residing in the U.S., a claim that was never substantiated. Moreover, at present, the recent scandal involving U.S. officials on the Signal messaging platform further demonstrates that there is no evidence to link the Yemen issue to the Islamic Republic of Iran.
The fabrication of such allegations and the accusations against the Islamic Republic of Iran regarding destructive activities in other countries are made while Iran itself has always been a victim of terrorism.
Despite Israel openly admitting to multiple terrorist operations on Iranian soil, targeting Iranian nationals and even attacking Iran's embassy in Damascus-which is a clear violation of international laws and conventions, resulting in the martyrdom of several Iranian citizens- mainstream media outlets have never addressed these issues as terrorism."
