August 30: The anniversary of a terrible terrorist crime in Iran

 

August 30 (8 Shahrivar) is the anniversary of the occurrence of a great and terrible terrorist crime against the government and people of the Islamic Republic of Iran, and every year, on this day, the people of Iran express their anger and hatred against terrorism and emphasize the need for unity in the fight against terrorism. On this day, H.E Mohammad Ali Rajaei the President and H,E Mohammad Javad Bahnar the Prime Minister of the Islamic Republic of Iran along with other members of the government, were martyred following the terrorist explosion in the prime minister's office by the terrorist group of MEK in 1981 (1360).

 The afore-mentioned terrorist group had committed another crime, two months earlier, in which, by the explosion of the headquarters of the Islamic Republic Party (June 1981), dozens of political, judicial, party officials and innocent citizens of Iran had been killed. . This terrorist group, which was an ally of Saddam, the dictator of Iraq, and by betraying the country and standing by that dictator for 8 years, has fought against it's own nation. MEK has killed more than 17 thousand Iranians, including government officials, parliamentarians, and military forces. And made the police and ordinary citizens victims of it's sinister and anti-human goals.

 The elements of this group played a role in the assassination of nuclear scientists of the Islamic Republic of Iran under the guidance of the intelligence and espionage services of the Israeli regime. These elements have also tried to carry out espionage actions against Iran by the guidance of the intelligence services of some foreign countries. The members of this group do not have the slightest acceptance among Iranian people including the opposition groups which are in foreign countries. In addition, there is public disgust against them in Iran, due to the terrorist, violent, inhumane and divisive acts against the interests of the people and the country of Iran during many years from the beginning of the Islamic Revolution until now.

Today, the world recognizes Iran as a frontline country in the fight against terrorism. The world is indebted to Iran for the defeat of ISIS because this country, together with the involved countries, stood up against ISIS and other violent and terrorist groups and defeated it. But Iran is not only the hero of the fight against terrorism, but also the great victim of terrorism.

 The Islamic Republic of Iran does not need to be praised for the role it played in the defeat of ISIS and Takfiri terrorism, but as a victim of terrorism, it expects the countries that have sheltered members of the MEK terrorist group to stop implementing double standards in combating against with terrorism.

 Human rights and democratic values should not be used by the governments as a means to cover up the truth and to hide the crimes of terrorists and purify them. Democracy is not the freedom of terrorists in the streets, but clearing the streets of terrorists.

 Allowing terrorists to operate freely against the government and people of Iran is not an improvement of human rights, but a degradation of human rights. It is not freedom of speech, but a clear violation of it. Please do not divide terrorism into good and bad.
