Response to baseless allegations concerning involvment in the dissemination of a Malware

In light of D.N.’s refusal to publish the full text of this embassy’s response to baseless allegations a full text of this response is provided here:

The Embassy of the Islamic Republic of Iran in Sweden strongly rejects the allegations that Iran is connected to the malware incidents recently mentioned. These claims are unfounded. No credible evidence has ever been presented to support them, except for vague similarities to previous accusations that were themselves unproven.

Unfortunately, making unsupported accusations against Iran has become a recurring pattern in some European countries. The Embassy has repeatedly asked Swedish authorities to provide documentation for earlier claims, and no evidence has ever been delivered.

Iran seeks friendly, constructive, and mutually respectful relations with all European countries, including Sweden. Our bilateral ties extend back nearly 400 years, and Iran has consistently worked to preserve and strengthen this longstanding relationship.

Iran is the target of an ongoing disinformation campaign. We respectfully ask that, as an independent media outlet, you avoid becoming part of this campaign and false narratives.

The actors who have weaponized technology, misused mobile networks, and exploited modern digital tools including even artificial intelligence for violence, aggression and genocide for sure are the real drivers of such disinformation efforts.

We wish to underline that the party conducting surveillance and espionage on different countries and world leaders including their own partners is not Iran
