Statement by the Embassy of the Islamic Republic of Iran in Sweden Regarding JanFada campaign
Since the very first day of the recent illegal and illegitimate aggression against Iran, millions of Iranians have taken to the streets every night, demonstrating with unwavering courage that they are prepared to defend their country's independence, sovereignty and territorial integrity with their very lives.
Likewise, countless Iranians abroad have declared their solidarity and cohesion with their compatriots at home. The campaign in question (JanFada) is one of the ways to express this shared resolve.
We recall that when the President of the United States threatened the Iranian nation with the destruction of Iranian civilization, taking the country back to the Stone Age and the bombing of Iran's infrastructure, Iranians formed human chains and thwarted that threat. Subsequently, the futility of any military solution was proven to all. Thus, the declaration of readiness to sacrifice one's life for Iran functioned as a form of deterrence and contributed to de-escalation. Therefore, the proper interpretation of this campaign is to see it as a force for peace.
Naturally, this reality is unpalatable to certain disinformation enterprises that had proclaimed that Iranians would welcome the aggressors with the first shot. Hence, they have resorted to the same threadbare tactic of misrepresenting a nation's readiness to defend itself, in order to divert attention from the atrocities committed by the United States and Israel and their flagrant violations of all international law, which serve no purpose other than to legitimize the use of force.
Furthermore, when assessing the bias of analysts in the field of terrorism, one need only apply a simple criterion: have they ever condemned Israeli state terrorism, or have they merely served as apologists for war crimes and genocide?
Any misrepresentation of this campaign as a threat is nothing more than an act of warmongering and opposition to the genuine de-escalatory efforts of the great Iranian nation.
